Oracle Fusion Middleware to Help Enable Emerson Network Power’s Trellis™
Platform, Providing Unmatched Scalability in Data Centre Management, Planning
SAN FRANCISCO (October 3, 2011) – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR)
and a global leader in maximizing availability, capacity, and efficiency of
critical infrastructure, today announced that Oracle Fusion Middleware will help
enable Emerson Network Power’s Trellis™ platform for Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM). Emerson Network Power made the announcement today at Oracle OpenWorld 2011.
The Trellis platform is an open architecture-based DCIM solution with real-time event analysis capabilities across all physical and logical systems in the data centre.
Delivering unprecedented insight and control to data centre professionals, the
Trellis platform enables smarter, faster decisions that maximize data centre availability, efficiency, and capacity.
Oracle Fusion Middleware will provide a common language to enable
seamless communication between the multiple applications that the Trellis
platform manages. The industry-leading Oracle Fusion Middleware also will
provide the necessary scalability to handle the huge amounts of data that must
be consolidated and analyzed for the Trellis platform to provide real-time data
centre visibility and control.
“Data centre operators must manage information needs that can change in an instant, but they’re often not able to predict how real-time changes to IT equipment might impact supporting infrastructure,” said Steve Hassell,
president of Emerson Network Power’s Avocent business. “We’re changing that with
the Trellis platform by combining management of IT and infrastructure into a
single, coordinated view. Our selection of Oracle Fusion Middleware is a big
step in our efforts to make data centre management more streamlined and efficient for our customers.”
The Trellis platform, which will be available early next year, will
combine Emerson Network Power’s expertise in data centre systems, software, and services with Oracle Application Integration Architecture and components. The solution will provide full visibility into physical and logical systems in the data centre, including all of Emerson Network Power’s grid-to-chip solutions.
“Emerson elected to standardize on Oracle Fusion Middleware for its ability to deliver scalability and reusability within the Trellis platform,” said Hasan Rizvi, senior vice president, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Java.
